A Georgetown McDonough Evening MBA Program Students Story
This interview is the latest in an Accepted blog series featuringà interviews with MBA students, offering readers a behind-the-scenes look at top MBA programs. And now for a chat withà Saat Alety. Accepted:à Wed like to get to know you! Where are you from? Where and what did you study as an undergrad? Saat: I grew up in Naperville, Illinois, a suburb about 40 minutes southwest of Chicago. I received a bachelorââ¬â¢s degree in biological sciences from Loyola University Chicago, which, like Georgetown University, is a Jesuit university right on the water. Accepted:à Can you share three fun facts about yourself? Saat:à 1. Iââ¬â¢m a citizen of both the United States and the United Kingdom. 2. Iââ¬â¢m a former Presidential campaign staffer (Romney 2012). 3. Iââ¬â¢ve never spent either of the two days most associated with Washington, D.C, in Washington, D.C.: Independence Day and Election Day. Accepted:à Where are you currently in b-school? What year? Saat:à Iââ¬â¢m a second-year student in the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business Evening MBA Program. The degree traditionally takes three years to complete. Accepted:à How did you know that Georgetown was the correct fit for you? Saat:à The Georgetown McDonough School of Business is the nexus of global business and public policy, an intersection Iââ¬â¢d like to build my career on. When combined with top-notch professors, world-class facilities, and the opportunity to pursue a graduate business education in our nationââ¬â¢s capital, the choice was clear. Accepted:à Youre currently the Communications Director and Legislative Assistant to House Representative Ed Royce of California. How do you think this experience prepared you for the Georgetown MBA program? Saat:à Hill staffers tend to excel at being consensus builders who can bring multiple parties together to reach an equitable solution to a problem. Whether it be coordinating a joint press release with three other Members of Congress or clearing legislation with stakeholders before itââ¬â¢s introduced, these skills came in handy when it came to group projects. Georgetown does an excellent job of rotating students through different groups, which presents a new set of challenges each semester as well as the opportunity to get to know your entire cohort. I should add that being a Legislative Assistant for financial services policy issues has come in handy during some of my classes. Accepted:à What do you plan to do after you graduate? Would you like to continue to work in politics? Saat:à Public policy is my passion and I havenââ¬â¢t accomplished everything on Capitol Hill that I set out to just yet. I do plan on transitioning from public service to government affairs and corporate advocacy in the future. The Georgetown MBA has been integral in giving me a better understanding of business operations, how the private sector interacts with policymakers, and how both sides can better work together. Accepted:à Looking back at the entire application process, what would you say was your biggest challenge? How did you overcome? Saat:à I think one of the biggest challenges was simply ââ¬â ââ¬Å"Is this the year to apply?â⬠Both full-time and part-time candidates need to make that determination after examining their careers, personal lives, and future plans. I had (and continue to have) the privilege of working in an office that is incredibly supportive of my pursuit of an MBA, which helped immensely. Accepted:à Lastly, what would be your top tip to those just starting out with the MBA application process? Saat:à I canââ¬â¢t stress how important it is to give your LOR writers plenty of advance notice ahead of your application deadlines. And when possible, apply early! Star Wars Vs. Star Trek Essay Research Paper Example For Students
Star Wars Vs. Star Trek Essay Research Paper Star Wars and Star Trek certainly share many similarities being the benchmarks for the genre Of science fiction movies. While the similarities are not difficult to see, especially when many people confuse their names to be the same thing, differences account for he greatness of each movie. If one were to place a Trekker (Star Trek fan) and a Star Wars maniac fan in the same room, surely only one would get out alive. This is because Star Wars and Star Trek are very arguably different. Although Star Wars and Star Trek are both stunning examples of modern science fiction, they are not the same. Star Trek and Star Wars each posses similar and different general concepts, themes, and motives. First of all, the technology of Star Trek and Star Wars hold some similarities, but mostly differences. Star Wars has the superior weaponry. Star Wars has lighteners (highly dignified glowing swords that slice titanium doors like nuclear powered chainsaws), laser blasters, planet destroying canons, and mystical energy called the force. In Star Wars, most ships are capable of light speed, which can move their ships to different galaxies in seconds. Radically shaped Attlee ships and battle stations also add to the weapon arsenal. All in all Star Wars has stunning fictional technology which really creates the right atmosphere for the dialogue. Star Trek, however, seems to have a more realistic approach to technology. Star Trek has pathetic tasters Which kick like garage door openers, but can be set to stun to preserve life instead vaporizing it. The Star Trek vessels also posses photon torpedoes, Which seem to always be deflected by the enemies shields. Star Trek ships posses warp speed, which is a common characteristic with Star Wars lightships. The starship are very attractive and streamlined, but hold a more realistic and practical appearance. Star Treks technology resembles the most likely future of technology which adds to the realism of Star Trek. Next, Star Wars and Star Trek have similarities and differences in characters. Star Wars tends to have very primitive alien life, for example the hookiest and awoke, Droids are nearly human with minor programming restrictions, but they do resemble tin cans and gold toil mannequins. The leaders are headstrong rebels who are very young, inexperienced, and emotional. Star Wars seems to appeal to a younger crowd. Star Treks characters bear many similarities as well as differences. Star Treks alien life can vary from very primitive to far superior life forms, for example moving slime to mind controlling midgets. Droids are very human in emotions and in appearance. Star Treks leaders are over-achieving pioneers who are middle aged, highly experienced, and unwilling to compromise a mission based on their emotions. The general background for both Star Wars and Star Trek are very similar, but some minor details differentiate them. In Star Wars, the mission is fighting to gain peace. The universe is full of life and alien life and human life are fully integrated. Underlying beliefs stem from Christianity, Buddhism, and Judaism. The layout in modern society could be compared to a topic society of hippies fighting the government to live in their vans down by the river in peace and harmony with all of nature. Star Wars has Star Trek seems to BEA more scientific that Star Wars. The everlasting mission is to search the galaxy and maintain peace, The universe if full of scattered life, UT alien life and human life are only partially integrated. The underlying belief in Star Trek stem from beliefs based solely on science, facts, and the tangible. The layout in modern society could be compared to hippie scientists who have a grant from the government to live in a bottomed and long to learn more about the world around them. One must keep in mind, that on the final frontier, a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, creativity was the only limit to a science fiction movie.

How to Write an Argumentative Essay With Technology
How to Write an Argumentative Essay With TechnologyOne of the most effective ways to use technology in an argumentative essay is to present information that isn't necessarily the most common but can still make a point. When you write an argumentative essay, using technology may seem a little odd but this approach makes a huge difference in the way your readers think. For example, if you're trying to explain why you don't need to update your computer or electronic gadgets when technological advances have increased their functions so drastically, then you can focus on the very latest products that are available and point out how the technology they use is in some way superior to what your computer can do. You could also give examples of how the new gadgets or services will make things easier for you. You might even show how this technology could even help you out of a tight spot. The goal of making a technology argument is to make it so well researched that readers will almost feel as th ough they're doing their own research for the information you're giving them. This type of argumentative essay topics will likely be difficult for most readers to sift through and may cause them to think that you're making a completely new and unique point. However, this approach can create long-lasting effects on the way readers perceive your argument. You should try to get away from the 'common knowledge' that most people know but will not be able to explain why they feel the way they do. For example, if you write an argumentative essay on why your love life is not necessarily a good reason to get married, you should only focus on the things that you know are likely to improve your chances of being happy together and not force them on your readers as fact.Another strategy you can use in an argumentative essay about technology is to really get down to the nitty-gritty of what you know about the subject. If you can give your readers factual information, you'll do better at convincing them than just describing some of the popular reasons why you don't want to upgrade your gadgets. Keep this in mind while writing and you'll be able to choose topics that will generate the most interest and, therefore, the most attention.Readers will be looking for solutions to their problems. Thus, you can ensure that your arguments will get people's attention by showing them how technology is improving the world for everyone. What you need to do is show your readers how this technology makes their lives easier. In conclusion, you should make sure that you consider each of your readers when you write your essay so that you can make your argument as appealing to your audience look as believable. Once you do this, you can create long-lasting impact on the way your essay is received by your readers.
